BETA Climbing Gym offers various types of climbing

Different Problem Styles at Each Location

The Shinjuku location features many outdoor-inspired hold-intensive problems, while the Odawara location incorporates modern sport climbing elements. In a scene where sport-oriented problems are increasingly mainstream, Shinjuku's hold-focused approach is a rare find. Grading is calibrated to match outdoor rock grades. Since the same setter creates problems at both locations, experiencing the contrast between the two styles is one of the unique joys BETA offers.

Practice Various Types of Climbing

Beyond bouldering, you can practice lead climbing, top-rope belaying, quickdraw placement and clipping, multi-pitch ropework, rope ascending and hauling. At the Shinjuku location, dry tooling practice is also available.

Rich Lesson Menu

We hold various workshops both indoors and outdoors. Programs can be customized to suit your needs, so feel free to contact us. Indoor offerings include lead climbing, multi-pitch climbing, crack climbing, dry tooling introductions, rappelling, and rope ascending courses. Outdoor programs include introductory lessons and practice sessions for lead, multi-pitch, crack, dry tooling, ice, and more.

The Origin of 'BETA' - Two Meanings

1

Prototype

In system development, a "prototype" is called "BETA". This climbing gym also carries the meaning of being a prototype that continues to evolve. We want to build it together with all the climbers enjoying BETA.

2

Information

In climbing, "information" is called "BETA". We hope that visitors to this gym will interact with other climbers, gain information, and spread their wings into the world of adventure. We'd be happy if the interactions between customers create a chemical reaction, leading them to enjoy various types of climbing in various fields. BETA will do our best to help with that.
